A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with a large scale operation of marijuana wax that has a street value of $150,000.
The Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division executed a search warrant at a residence on the 900 block of South Eighth Street in Brainerd. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing drug investigation into sale and distribution of marijuana wax in Crow Wing County, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office stated in a news release.
LADID agents discovered nearly 5 pounds of marijuana wax and arrested James Clayton Kalk of Brainerd.
Evidence recovered at the scene showed a large scale sale operation of the marijuana wax, the news release stated.

"Marijuana wax is a relatively new product, which is made from raw marijuana but is far more potent," Sheriff Todd Dahl stated in the release. "It does not appear that the marijuana wax was being made here. We believe it was shipped to the residence where it was being prepared to be sold. Nearly 5 pounds of marijuana wax is a very large amount since this product is normally sold on the street by the gram."
LADID was assisted in the investigation and warrant by the Brainerd Police Department and the Minneapolis Airport Police.
