LITCHFIELD - A Meeker County Sheriff’s Office investigation says the Monday deaths of two teens near Litchfield were the result of a murder-suicide.
According to a news release from Sheriff Brian Cruze, the investigation determined that David Cunningham shot his sister, Jessica Cunningham, in their home before turning the gun on himself.
Their father, Thomas Cunningham, 51, apparently came home to find the two of them deceased.
Cruze said in the release that one of two follow-up search warrants at the address was for marijuana and marijuana grow-related items. Cruze said the drug case does not appear to be related to the murder-suicide.
David Cunningham, 17, was a student at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City School, but was home because ACGC does not have school on Mondays. Jessica, 15, is a former ACGC student, but the Sheriff’s Office says she had been schooling online at home.

Cruze said in the release there is no known motive for the shooting.
