The Brainerd Memorial Day Committee is looking for volunteers to help facilitate the 2017 Memorial Day activities.
Each year, the committee organizes ceremonies to honor veterans and current military personnel at the Laurel Street Bridge, All Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the Crow Wing County Historic Courthouse, the National Guard Armory and a parade and ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery in northeast Brainerd. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate these activities.
The committee is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. March 8, April 12 and May 3 and 24 at the Brainerd VFW, 309 S. Sixth St., Brainerd. Memorial Day is May 29. Those interested in volunteering don't have to be affiliated with the military, just have a desire to support those who serve their country.
