An Onamia woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday, March 11, in Mille Lacs County.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports Melanie Lou Sam, 58, was eastbound in her Chevrolet Cruze on 460th Street near Highway 169 in Kathio Township when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign around 3:30 p.m.. A Chevrolet Silverado driven by 56-year-old John Michael Dubois of Garrison was headed north on Highway 169 and struck Sam while making a left turn at 460th Street.
Sam was transported to North Memorial Health for non-life-threatening injuries. Dubois was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, Onamia Fire Department, Mille Lacs Tribal Police and Mille Lacs Health Systems assisted the state patrol on scene.
