MADISON - A Watertown, S.D., man has been identified as the driver killed early Friday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of two county highways in west-central Minnesota.

The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office said Robert James Coyle, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, Ryan Elliott Wade, 29, of Canby, was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson. The sheriff's office said in a news release late Friday that Wade had injuries to his legs and ribs and was discharged from the hospital Friday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. at County Roads 23 and County Road 2. The sheriff’s office said foggy conditions may have been a factor.

Wade was northbound on County Road 23, about five miles south of Dawson, when his vehicle was struck by Coyle's vehicle. Coyle was westbound on County Road 2 and failed to stop for a stop sign, the sheriff's office reported.
