The 2017 Minnesota United States Pageants will take place Friday through Sunday at Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd.
There will be 45 ladies, from all over the state, who will compete throughout the weekend with a
chance to represent Minnesota at the 2017 United States National Pageant, in Orlando, Fla., this coming July.
The pageants have a full weekend of events lined up, in which the public is welcome to attend. At 7 p.m. Friday, the Miss and Mrs. contestants will compete, with a social hour beginning at 6 p.m. with the Rhinestone's Runway Show and silent auction. The contestants have a chance to win a year's modeling contract with Privileged Model Management of Minneapolis. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. At 3 p.m. Saturday, the Little Miss Minnesota contestants will compete in The Glamour Girl Runway Show, with the same opportunity to win a year's modeling contract with Privileged Model Management. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
At 7 p.m. Saturday the 2017 Minnesota United States Pageant will take place. Tickets are $30 for general seating and $40 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com or at the door, for cash only.
The last event will be 1 p.m. Sunday, and will be the 2017 Little Miss and Pre Teen Minnesota United States Pageant.
Contestants and families will also be seen at noon Friday at Prairie Bay, for the "Queen's Luncheon."
State Pageant Directors Vicki Randall and Bill Musel, who live in Baxter, are bringing the state pageant to Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd for the first time ever after seeing a growth in the pageant system. They said the state pageant was getting too big for the Twin Cities' theaters to host and they've always wanted to bring the state pageant to their hometown to Tornstrom Auditorium.
Randall and Musel also are the directors of the Brainerd United States Pageant. They started directing pageants in 2003 and began the Brainerd circuit nine years ago. They've been the state directors for the past three years.
