BISMARCK – Police say an 8-foot-long boa constrictor that escaped its enclosure in a Bismarck home earlier this week was found Thursday in an air vent in the home.
Residents of the home noticed Wednesday morning that their boa constrictor had escaped its enclosure sometime overnight. They searched the house but couldn’t find the snake, so they contacted Bismarck Police Animal Control, which also couldn’t find the snake because of what police called “extreme conditions” inside the home.
Later that night, one of the residents heard something in the air vent and suspected it was her boa constrictor. She called a private contractor Thursday, who was able to remove the snake, according to Sgt. Mark Buschena.
The snake was not injured.
