BAXTER - The Baxter Police Department reported officers located the body of the missing 82-year-old woman in a vehicle at the Comfort Suites Lodge in Baxter.
Police officers were called just prior to 6 p.m. Wednesday to a call of a suspicious vehicle at the hotel. The description of the vehicle matched the vehicle being driven by the woman, who was earlier reported missing in the Crow Wing County area.
Officers arrived and found the vehicle with the missing woman, Evelyn Nelson, inside. She was unresponsive and appeared to have been deceased for some time prior to police arrival, law enforcement reported.
While the investigation continues into the cause of death, there is no foul play suspected. The body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office awaiting an autopsy.
The Baxter Police Department was assisted by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office on scene.
