The Highway 210/Washington Street bridge over the Mississippi River in Brainerd will be reduced to one lane of traffic Monday through Wednesday, April 26-28.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, motorists traveling along Highway 210/Washington Street bridge — between Dairy Queen and Riverside Elementary School — will encounter heavy equipment, crews and daytime delays as the eastbound lane will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Lane closure will occur 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day on eastbound Highway 210 between the signalized intersections of Northwest Fourth Street and North Fourth Street in Brainerd.
MnDOT crews are conducting a bridge inspection and study. Pedestrians may also encounter sidewalk closures and should follow signs, MnDOT stated.
MnDOT asked motorists approaching the daytime work zones to slow down, be prepared to stop if necessary, and move over within the work zone as appropriate to give crews a safe space to work.

MnDOT also reminds motorists Northwest Fourth Street north of Highway 210 — which changes into Riverside Drive/Crow Wing County Highway 20 — closed Monday, April 26, to through traffic between Highway 210/Washington Street and Beaver Dam Road. The road closure is necessary as the city of Brainerd reconstructs the road and installs a roundabout at Jackson Street.
Travelers should be alert to roadwork signage and expect to see access changes at the signalized Highway 210/Washington Street and Northwest Fourth Street intersection through mid-June.
