The Minnesota Department of Transportation encouraged business owners, residents and motorists to attend an open house in Isle to learn construction details and traffic plans for a project that will resurface 10 miles of Highway 27, and replace sidewalks in Isle, beginning in late August.

The informational open house will be held Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Isle City Center, 285 Second Avenue S.

Those attending the open house will learn about the project's construction schedule and traffic plans, view the project design and layout, take home project information and have questions answered by MnDOT and contractor staff working on the project, the agency said in a release.

The project will resurface and improve Highway 27 between Highway 169 and Isle, replace or improve sidewalks through downtown Isle and Wahkon, replace culverts along Highway 27, improve the Highway 27/Highway 47 intersection and make other improvements while lanes are closed for construction, the release said.

To request an ASL or foreign language interpreter during the open house, call 651-366-4720. To request other reasonable accommodations, call 651-366-4718; the Minnesota Relay service toll-free at 1-800-627-3529 (TTY, Voice or ASCII) or 711, or email your request to adarequest.dot@state.mn.us .
