MOORHEAD - A Moorhead man dragged a Hitterdal grandmother her from the bed she was sharing with her granddaughter, threw her on her own bed and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors allege.
Glenn John Braseth, 51, was charged Monday in Clay County District Court with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
A statement of probable cause says Clay County deputies were dispatched Saturday to the woman’s home, where she told them Braseth was angry about a trip she took earlier to drop off another granddaughter in Jamestown, N.D.
When she arrived home, Braseth, who’d been drinking alcohol all night, continued arguing with her, she told deputies.
She said she was trying to sleep in the bed with her other granddaughter when Braseth picked her up and carried her to her room, where he put her on the bed. There, she told deputies, Braseth pinned her down and sexually assaulted her repeatedly until about 4 a.m.
She called 911 and reported the assault.

Court documents say Braseth denied having any sexual contact with the woman.
His bail was set at $30,000 without conditions or $15,000 with conditions.
His next court appearance is set for Aug. 27.
