The fourth annual running of the Brainerd Jaycees Lil' Rubber Duckie Race had more than 5000 little yellow rubber duckies floating down the Mississippi River in Brainerd.

The little rubber duckies were gently placed in the river by a Ziegler Cat Payloader and rescued from the river by duckie wranglers down by Kiwanis Park.

The first 35 duckies to the finish line all won prizes for their adoptive parents.

The biggest winner of this event will be all the youth athletics in the lakes area. After four years of the Brainerd Jaycees 100 percent volunteer running of the Lil' Rubber Duckie Race, the event will have donated more than $60,000 to youth athletics.

"The Brainerd Jaycees would like to thank everyone that helps with this event and all the great community members that donated prizes for our prize list," said Jake Thesing, event director. "Without the support of the community we would not be able to make this event such a great success."
