Motorcycle and deer collide, injuring 2

CASS LAKE — Two people were injured Monday, June 15, when the Yamaha motorcycle they were on struck a deer on Highway 2, just east of Cass Lake.

The Minnesota State Patrol was called to the motorcycle crash at 10:08 p.m. in Pine Bay Township. The motorcycle — driven by Brandon K. Gregory, 31, and his passenger, Amy J. Emond, 36, both of Bemidji — came to rest in the lanes of traffic. The driver and passenger, who were both wearing helmets, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Cass Lake Indian Health Services hospital in Cass Lake.

The state patrol was assisted by the Cass Lake Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s office and fire and ambulance services in the area.
