Motorcycle and SUV collide on highway

LONGVILLE — A Breezy Point man driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was injured at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, after colliding with a Toyota Rav 4 in Cass County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the Rav 4 and the Harley-Davidson were both traveling south on Highway 84, in Wabedo Township, south of Longville. The Rav 4 was pulling over to turn around while the Harley-Davidson was behind it. The Harley-Davidson started to go around the Rav 4, when the Rav 4 began making the U-turn, and the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Harley-Davidson, Timothy G. Huseby, 50, had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Huseby was wearing a helmet, the state patrol reported.

The driver of the Rav 4, Jonathan R. Moran, 44, Hammond, Indiana, and his passenger, Casey Jo Mcgehee, 41, Springfield, Missouri, were not injured. The state patrol reported Moran had alcohol in his system.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota DNR assisted the state patrol at the scene.
