HUDSON, WI - A Twin Cities motorcyclist being chased by an officer at speeds in excess of 130 mph was injured early Monday in a crash along Interstate 94 in St. Croix County.
The driver, identified by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office as 20-year-old Eden Prairie, Minnesota resident Zachary G. Mills, was taken to Hudson Hospital before being transferred to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. His condition was not immediately available.
According to a news release, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper witnessed a westbound motorcycle going 83 mph at 1 a.m. Monday as it passed through the town of Warren. The trooper attempted to stop it, but the bike continued on.
Speeds reached 132 mph during the pursuit into Hudson, where the motorcycle crashed about 5 miles before reaching the Minnesota state line.
Mills was found conscious and alert in heavy brush, according to the release, which goes on to say he complained of pain in his left leg.

Mills, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, could face charges through the St. Croix County District Attorney’s Office.
