Motorcycle crashes on Washington Street

A Honda motorcycle and a Chevrolet Blazer crashed broadside Monday near the intersection of Washington Street and Fourth Street Northwest in Brainerd causing serious injuries, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.

A Honda motorcycle and a Chevrolet Blazer crashed broadside Monday near the intersection of Washington Street and Fourth Street Northwest in Brainerd causing serious injuries, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 2:39 p.m.

Traffic on Washington Street, also known as Highway 210, was blocked around the crash scene for a few blocks to the east and west of Washington Street. The intersection with the signal lights at the Washington Street and Fourth Street Northwest intersection also was blocked for a short time. Law enforcement slowly opened up the lanes of traffic, which continued at a heavy and slow pace for a few hours.

Assisting the state patrol on scene was the Brainerd Police Department, Brainerd Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and the DNR. The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department and Baxter Police Department assisted with traffic control.
