DEERWOOD - The driver of a motorcycle was left unscathed Tuesday when his motorcycle started on fire while driving northbound on Highway 6 in Deerwood, Deerwood Police Chief Harry Gottsch said.
Gottsch said around 8:44 a.m. the motorcyclist crossed the railroad tracks approaching Highway 210, when he stopped to make a turn. Gottsch said the motorcycle started on fire and the operator escaped with no injuries.
"It flamed up and he watched it melt into the ground," Gottsch said. "The cause of the fire is undetermined."
The Deerwood Fire Department was paged and extinguished the fire.
