Motorcycle strikes deer, seriously injuring driver

Medical treatment was administered on scene and the man was transported to the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby with serious injuries.

REMER — A 62-year-old Merrifield man was injured Saturday, May 1, when the Harley-Davidson he was operating struck a deer in rural Remer.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called at 4:41 p.m. to the crash on Cass County Highway 7 in Thunder Lake Township, rural Remer. Deputies and responders arrived on scene and learned the Merrifield man was traveling on the county highway when a deer entered the roadway striking the motorcycle causing it to crash.

Medical treatment was administered on scene and the man was transported to the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby with serious injuries.

Remer and Crosby ambulance services and North Memorial Health Air Care assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
