Motorcycle strikes mailbox, injuring driver

A 26-year-old man was airlifted to a Robbinsdale hospital after crashing his motorcycle Aug. 29 along Highway 371, north of Baxter.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded at 6:20 p.m. to a report of a motorcycle traveling on Highway 371, when it struck a mailbox causing the motorcycle to flip over. The operator, Joseph N. Porter, of Port Orchard, Washington, was airlifted by North Memorial Health Aircare to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.
