SEBEKA — A motorcyclist was injured Wednesday, Aug. 25, after being rear-ended by a truck south of Sebeka.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was called 6:20 p.m. to the intersection of Highway 71 and Wadena County Highway 9 for a report of a motorcyclist who was run over by a vehicle. Law enforcement and first responders arrived on scene and learned Orren Lien, 49, of Wadena, was operating the motorcycle and was turning west onto County Highway 9, when he was struck from behind by a pickup. Faith Paurus, 45, of Osage, was driving the truck and told authorities she was looking to the west prior to the intersection and looked back at the road in time to see the motorcyclist signaling but she couldn't stop in time.
Lien suffered a cut below his right knee with minor scrapes and abrasions. He was transported to Tri County Hospital by a private party. Neither Paurus nor her passengers were injured.
The Sebeka First Responders assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
