The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's Crow Wing County Fair booth moved for this year.
It will be in Commercial Building No. 3, along with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District. The three agencies are partnering this year for a new family-friendly, educational activity. Visit the booths to answer questions about land, water and air, and receive stamps on an Eco Palooza Passport. After success with the passport, go to the MPCA booth to show the completed passport and receive a prize.
The MPCA booth will also feature a "We Are Water" display to learn about the importance of surface and groundwater sources and how to protect the resources, a news release stated. Kids can take a few moments at the activity table to make their own button to wear. Visitors will also learn more about personal wipes advertised as "flushable" but that can be harmful to individual septic and municipal sewer systems. See photos and read about examples of costly and messy problems caused throughout the state by flushable wipes.
