Applications are being accepted for the title of Mrs. Crow Wing County.

Entry deadline is Dec. 14.

Mrs. Crow Wing County will have the honor of representing her area at the Mrs. Minnesota International pageant, which has established itself as an organization with integrity and high ethical standards, a news release stated. The event will be March 22-23 in Minneapolis.

The woman chosen as Mrs. Crow Wing County will become an ambassador for her area and will receive the official title and sash. If selected as Mrs. Minnesota International, she will receive a prize package and the chance to represent Minnesota at the 2019 Mrs. International Pageant July 15-16, 2019, in Charleston, W.V.

The International Pageant system was developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments and commitment to family and marriage. Around the world, women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with their husband and family to become positive role models, a news release stated. The competition gives each contestant the opportunity to learn about family life in other communities, along with the chance to share her beliefs and make new friends.

Beginning 30 years ago, Mrs. International was developed to have higher standards than other pageant systems. The focus is to showcase women ages 21-56. Each contestant competes in interview, evening gown and fitness wear. The contestant will select a platform of her choice to promote for the year. Husbands are part of the show and escort their wives in the evening gown competition.

The 2018 Mrs. Minnesota is Valentina Kostenko of Ramsey, who speaks on her platform "Raising Awareness of Eating Disorders" and supports the Emily Program. Kostenko chose this platform because she suffered from an eating disorder for three years.

Married women may apply online at www.mnpageants.com or email the State Director Patti Wanous at mnintlpageants@gmail.com . For more information, check out www.mrsinternational.com .
