The Brainerd Public Library staff and patrons would like to thank the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library for their amazing support of the library. The Friends of the Brainerd Public Library have given thousands of volunteer hours to help raise funds, hold programs and improve the library.
In recent years, the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library have gone above and beyond with programs such as 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and the Summer Reading Program, both crucial to children's literacy. The well-known authors who are part of the Friends' Brown Bag Series and the Wine and Words Event have contributed greatly to the region's reputation in the arts.
In addition, the physical improvements like the new seating areas outdoors and new wooden shelving and fireplace indoors enhance the experience of everyone who visits the library in person.
Finally, the semi-annual fabulously huge book sales continue to grow in size and popularity. As Mark Twain said, "Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life." A good library needs good friends, and we are very fortunate to have many.
