Murray, Cheek gain state honors for PL mock trial team

Seniors Catie Murray and Dominac Cheek, Pequot Lakes High School, were recently named to the 2016 Mock Trial All State Team.

PEQUOT LAKES-Seniors Catie Murray and Dominac Cheek, Pequot Lakes High School, were recently named to the 2016 Mock Trial All State Team according to the Minnesota State Bar Association.

Murray was recognized for her efforts as an attorney and Cheek received the honor as a witness. The two helped Pequot Lakes to a 11th place ranking at the MSBA state tournament last week in St. Paul. This was Pequot Lakes third consecutive appearance to the state tournament.

Murray, the daughter of Stephanie and Michael Murray of Breezy Point, plans to attend the University of Mary and major in social work. Cheek, son of Chris and Michele Cheek of Pequot Lakes, will attend the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and plans major in computer science.
