NAP deadline is Sept. 30

Sept. 30 is the final day for producers to purchase Non-insured Crop Disaster Program (NAP) coverage for perennial forage, wild rice, rhubarb, asparagus and strawberries for the 2015 crop year.

Sept. 30 is the final day for producers to purchase Non-insured Crop Disaster Program (NAP) coverage for perennial forage, wild rice, rhubarb, asparagus and strawberries for the 2015 crop year.

Noninsured Crop Disaster applications are due at different times according to the crop being insured. Producers should apply for NAP coverage using form CCC-471 (Application for Coverage). Related service fees are due when the application is filed. The application and service fee of $250 per crop up to a certain amount must be filed by the crop sales closing date. 2015 Closing dates left are as follows:

• Sept. 30 - Perennial forage crops, wild rice, select fruits and vegetables.

• Nov. 20 - Apples, blueberries, cane berries, cranberries and sage.

• Dec. 1 - Honey.

• Feb. 1 - Maple sap.

• March 15 - Spring seeded annual crops (vegetables and grain crops), perennial forage pasture.

• May 1 - Ornamental nursery.
