HASTINGS - One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 61 between 180th and 190th streets early Thursday morning south of Hastings.
The driver has been identified as Gregory D. Christensen, 42, of New Brighton.
The crash occurred while it was still dark, about 6:59 a.m., according to a State Patrol trooper on the scene.
The trooper stated the vehicle was southbound on the highway when it went off the road. It struck a sign, went into the ditch and went airborne for a short time before rolling into a field. The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was ejected and killed. He was not wearing a seat belt.
