CROSBY — The next Lakes Area Unlimited Learning event titled “Recent Developments in the Generation of Electricity in Minnesota” is scheduled 1:30-3:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby.
Sara Cron, Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative CEO for the past 20 years, will review Minnesota legislative actions affecting electrical power generation over the last 35 years and how they affect producers and consumers. Recently, the governor announced plans to make Minnesota "carbon free" by 2050. Cron will point out the benefits and unintended consequences of a "carbon free" Minnesota and how that would impact the energy market, energy producers and end consumers.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Cost is $5 for people who are not members of Unlimited Learning.
