Centurylink awarded Nisswa Elementary School with a $5,000 grant Monday to be used for technology needs for Nisswa Elementary students.

A team of educators, including Sarah Baker, Kelly Gubrud, Sheree Hanson, Sue Headlee, and Holly Olson worked together to write the grant and the funds will be used to purchase 25 Chromebook laptops and a mobile wheeled cart. Teachers can check out the cart of Chromebooks from the library and take them to the classrooms for student use during lessons.

"We are very grateful to receive the grant from Centurylink. The students are excited and teachers will be able to integrate technology-based learning with new Chromebook laptops." stated Molly Raske, Nisswa Elementary principal, in a news release.

Nisswa Elementary is part of the Brainerd Public School system and is located in the heart of Nisswa, educating 300 preschool through fourth-grade students from the Nisswa area.
