NEW BRIGHTON - A body found Monday in Rush Lake in New Brighton is that of Henry McCabe, a Mounds View man who has been missing since early September.

The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office, which identified the body, reported that the death does not appear to be suspicious, according to New Brighton police. No signs of trauma or foul play were found during the autopsy.

The cause of his death remains undetermined, pending the results of toxicology tests.

McCabe’s older brother, Timothy Borbor, said the family heard the news Tuesday and was gathering Tuesday evening.

“We are disappointed in the circumstances, but we also want to give thanks to the community, our friends and family,” Borbor said.

He said that he’s unsure what to believe about how McCabe died, but that the family is now looking forward.

New Brighton police conducted a ground search near where the body was found and also searched the shoreline of Rush Lake via boat but found nothing that could be considered evidence.

McCabe, 32, who worked for the Minnesota Department of Revenue, was last seen Sept. 7 at a Holiday station in Fridley. Police have been trying to establish where he went after that and have tracked pings from his cellphone to towers in Spring Lake Park, Fridley and New Brighton.
