Rep. Rick Nolan encourages students from the 8th Congressional District interested in applying for a nomination to a Military Service Academy to attend a special U.S. Military Academy information night.

The event will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Mounds View High School Auditorium, 1900 Lake Valentine Road, Arden Hills.

Guests from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Naval Academy will speak about their programs, opportunities for students, and life at the academies. Students, family members, and interested individuals will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the application process for each academy, and the congressional nomination process through their representative's office.

"Appointing some of the 8th District's best and brightest to our military academies is one of the most important and, quite frankly, enjoyable parts of my job as congressman," Nolan stated in a news release. "Students thinking about entering a military academy should attend this information night to learn more about our nation's military academies."
