GRAFTON, N.D. - Three children were injured Saturday afternoon after being thrown from a commercial inflatable toy at Summerfest in Grafton.
Assistant Police Chief Anthony Dumas said a strong gust of wind and sudden cloud burst around 2:30 p.m. caught hold of the inflatable surface and carried it and another inflatable about 300 feet to the nearby Park River.
The three children were taken by personal vehicle to Unity Hospital in Grafton with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of the inflatables landed in the river while the other came to rest on the bank.
Dumas said a Walsh County deputy and Grafton police officer used a small boat to reach the inflatable device in the river.

After making it to the inflatable, the law enforcement officers tied a long rope around the inflatable and pulled it to shore with the assistance of the Grafton Fire Department.
