"Spiders: They are so misunderstood" will be presented from 3-9 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the Northland Arboretum.

Join presenter Larry Weber as he debunks the myth of the spider and learn basic spider biology in this field course.

Participants will observe and catch spiders in their own environment, study their web patterns and discover which families of spiders are more commonly seen.

Participants will use magnifying glasses, close-focus binoculars and cameras to explore the critters.

Safe handling of spiders and introductory microscope work are also addressed.

It's a two-part workshop with a dinner break inbetween on your own.

Cost is $20 for Arboretum members and $30 non-members. Limited to 20 participants.
