PINE RIVER - Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide classes will start Jan. 13 in Pine River. Interested persons can become a Central Lakes College (CLC) student and start a nursing career by taking the first of these two classes. Nursing assistants are a high demand occupation, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The first class is the Nursing Assistant Class. This three credit class begins Jan. 13 at the Pine River site. Upon the completion of this class, students are eligible to take the Minnesota State Competence Evaluation and placed on the Minnesota State Registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Students can also continue their nursing education by signing up for the one credit Home Health Aide class. This CLC class will also be offered in Pine River following the Certified Nursing Assistant class.

There is a dedicated Scholarship Fund available only to students taking classes at the Pine River site. No residency requirements are necessary. Scholarship funds will be awarded on a first come-first served basis and are available as long as the fund exists.
