From noon-2 p.m. June 6 at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen, Second Harvest staff will be on-hand to accept Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors applications.
NAPS is a federal commodities food box that contains a nutritious balance of shelf-stable foods, in addition to 2 pounds of cheese.
In order to qualify for NAPS, a participant must 60 years old or older, a resident of Minnesota and be income-eligible. Bring proof of name, date of birth and address when applying. If an applicant qualifies they will receive a NAPS Box during their visit. NAPS boxes are limited and only available while supplies last.
For current NAPS participants the next distribution will also be June 6 at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen, 923 Oak St., Brainerd. Distribution is the first Wednesday of each month. Distribution times are based on last name:
• Last Name A - L-12:30-1:15 p.m.
