NISSWA-A 30-year-old Brainerd man was arrested Thursday, Nov. 22, after fleeing on foot from Nisswa police during a traffic stop.

According to the incident report by Nisswa Police Department, a police officer was on routine patrol parked by the roundabout on Crow Wing County Highway 18, when the officer observed a driver go by with felony warrants out for his arrest. The officer located the vehicle parked at the Nisswa Recycling Center behind the Nisswa Fire Department and arrested the 36-year-old Pequot Lakes man, who was placed in the officer's squad car.

The officer went back to the vehicle to talk to the passenger-a 30-year-old Brainerd man-who refused to provide his identification or any information. The officer followed the man's tracks up until Poplar Avenue.

Other officers arrived on scene to search for the Brainerd man. Police were able to identify the man and learned he had a felony and a misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest.
