A 20-year-old Onamia man was charged Monday with fifth-degree drug possession in Mille Lacs County District Court.

According to the criminal complaint against Ryan James Sund, the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department executed a search warrant on the 17000 block of Ookwemin Drive in Onamia. The officer searched the bedroom belonging to Sund. The officer observed several items relating to the use and sale of illegal street drugs, including small clear plastic baggies, smoking paraphernalia, a pepper shaker with false compartment containing a broken smoking pipe, a marijuana pipe and grinder.

On another table, the officer located a pair of pants with Sund's wallet and identification cards. Inside a safe in the closet, the officer located numerous live rounds of ammunition, revolver hand grips and two handgun magazines with live ammunition and an empty handgun case, the complaint read. The substance field test was positive for methamphetamine.
