The Brainerd Lakes Area Drug Education Coalition, or BLADE, along with Operation Community Connect invites children to participate in the “Create Your Own Coloring Contest.”
The contest is geared for Crow Wing County students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The mission of the contest is for youths to share their positive messages. Thirteen winners will have their artwork published in the 2021 BLADE calendar and will win a BLADE/Operation Community Connect hooded sweatshirt and a gift bag filled with goodies.

All entries must be dropped off by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at one of the following local law enforcement centers: Brainerd, Baxter, Crosby, Crosslake, Deerwood, Nisswa and Pequot Lakes police departments or the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.
Entries will be evaluated by the BLADE Coalition and Operation Community Connect members. Entries will be judged on coloring design, category creativity and neatness. Winners will be notified mid‐November. Additional entries will be chosen for promotional use advertising.
Youths choose their category to draw a positive choice they have made or draw an activity that helps them feel better when something makes them sad or mad. The youths also must describe their drawing.

The contest rules:
Students must be in grades kindergarten through eighth grade who attend public, private or a home school in Crow Wing County.
All entries must be the student’s original artwork; no trademark, copyright or electronic art.
Only one entry per student.
Entries will not be returned.
