Patch of ice results in crash in Fort Ripley Township

FORT RIPLEY--A 20-year-old man was injured Thursday when the vehicle he was driving hit a patch of ice causing him to lose control of the vehicle on 213th Street in Fort Ripley Township, north of Little Falls.

FORT RIPLEY-A 20-year-old man was injured Thursday when the vehicle he was driving hit a patch of ice causing him to lose control of the vehicle on 213th Street in Fort Ripley Township, north of Little Falls.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash 8:44 a.m. where Jordan VanVickle of Arlington was traveling west on 213th Street when he hit a patch of ice, lost control of the vehicle, slid off the road into the ditch and hit a tree. VanVickle was taken by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Gold Cross Ambulance.
