The fourth annual Central Minnesota Peace Fair is scheduled for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in Lum Park.

The peace fair will give peace activists from many Minnesota communities an opportunity to meet each other, discuss peace activism in their communities and plan future peace actions.

The event, which will take place at pavilion no. 2 at the park, will begin with an informal assembly followed by a peace walk and vigil. Rides are available for those in need of assistance.

The fair will feature four speakers: Ken Pentel, 2002 Green Party candidate for governor and founder of the Ecology Democracy Network; Coleen Rowley, retired Federal Bureau of Investigations agent, whistleblower and Women Against Military Madness activist; Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations-Minnesota; and Todd Pierce, retired U.S. Army major and Judge Advocate General's Corps attorney who defended alleged terrorist suspects in Guantanamo Bay.

A picnic lunch will take place afterward.

Artists are encouraged to bring and discuss with the crowd their peace and justice artwork. There will be an open mic for discussion, announcements and entertainment.

In the event of bad weather, the peace fair will take place in the United Church of Christ fellowship hall. The UCC is located at 415 Juniper St., Brainerd, near the southwest corner of Gregory Park. The fellowship hall is located downstairs.
