A 51-year-old Merrifield man died after he was struck Thursday, Dec. 27, by a pickup with a snowplow on the 24000 block of Crow Wing County Road 19, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported.
The collision was reported at 8:38 p.m. The victim, Michael Paul Donnay, was in the roadway when he was struck by the pickup, the sheriff's office reported.
Donnay was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the accident, road conditions and visibility were very poor.
Donnay was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The driver of the pickup, James Ronald Wood, 24, of Merrifield, was not injured.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Breezy Point and Crosslake police departments, the Mission Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance.
