MINNEAPOLIS - A man died Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in Minneapolis Friday night.
The incident took place just after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of 27th Street East and Cedar Avenue, according to Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder.
A motorcycle was heading southbound on Cedar Avenue when the driver struck the man, who officers believe was attempting to cross the street.
“The (driver) then just continued southbound without stopping,” Elders said.
The man was alert when officers responded to the scene and was able to provide some information about what had happened. His condition deteriorated quickly and he died at the hospital.

His name has not been released.
“When you have someone on foot hit by a motorcycle, I don’t think you can use the excuse ‘well gee I didn’t know I hit someone,’ ” Elder said. “It’s very, very sad.”
The driver is described as a white male in his 30s with light-colored hair. He was riding a black motorcycle with high handlebars.
