MISSION TOWNSHIP — A 51-year-old Merrifield man died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday, Feb. 29, in Mission Township.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was walking in the lane of traffic on County Highway 3 near the intersection with County Road 109 about 6:41 p.m., according to Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brad Thesing. He was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The victim was wearing dark clothing after sunset, which Thesing said could be a factor.
The driver was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation.
