Pequot Lakes firefighters respond to trailer fire

JENKINS - The Pequot Lakes Fire Department responded to a fire at 3:12 p.m. Saturday at a trailer home in Russell Township on the 4400 block of 44th Street Southwest, just west of Jenkins.

JENKINS - The Pequot Lakes Fire Department responded to a fire at 3:12 p.m. Saturday at a trailer home in Russell Township on the 4400 block of 44th Street Southwest, just west of Jenkins.

Pequot Lakes Fire Chief Tom Nelson said the fire started on the front deck and it went through the glass window into the entryway of the home. Nelson said they are not sure how the fire started and are investigating.

The fire caused about $20,000 in smoke and water damage to the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries.

There were about 13 firefighters on scene for just under an hour. The Pine River Fire Department, Pequot Lakes Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted Pequot Lakes fire at the scene.
