Pierz announces ExCEL representatives

ExCEL stands for Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership and is a recognition program designed for Minnesota high school juniors.

Pierz Healy High School recently announced its 2020-21 ExCEL representatives are Kiara Olesch and Lance Otremba.

Sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League, ExCEL โ€” standing for Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership โ€” is a recognition program designed for Minnesota high school juniors. Students who are active in fine arts and/or athletic activities, who show leadership qualities and who are model citizens in their community are eligible for the award. ExCEL Award recipients are selected through a multi-level process that involves league member schools and an independent panel of judges from schools throughout Minnesota.

Olesch, the daughter of Amie and Shawn Olesch, is involved in volleyball, basketball, softball, Peer Helping, Where Everyone Belongs, band, honor band, jazz band, pit band, pep band and youth group. Otremba, the son of Bob and Tina Otremba, is involved in football, golf, choir, jazz choir, Acapella Choir, band, honor band, jazz band, pit band, pep band, Knowledge Bowl, MHS, Peer Helping and youth group.
