BUCKMAN-A 20-year-old Pierz man was injured after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating crashed at 9:49 p.m. Saturday, July 7, on 300th Avenue, near 113th Street, 5 miles northeast of Buckman in Pierz Township.
The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reports Derek Marshik, 20, of Pierz, was traveling south on 300th Avenue when he hit a deer with his ATV, which caused him to be thrown from the vehicle. Marshik was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital by Life Link III with unknown injuries. The hospital had no information Monday on the Pierz man.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Pierz Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Pierz Fire Department, Pierz First Response Team, Life Link III and Gold Cross Ambulance.
