For $6 people will get a sandwich, chips, beverage and a side and raise money for Crow Wing County DWI Court.

The sixth annual fundraiser is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday on the east lawn of the Crow Wing County Judicial Center. The fundraiser is sponsored by the Brainerd Jaycees.

The mission of the Crow Wing County DWI Court is to enhance public safety by increasing the supervision of DWI offenders, reducing recidivism rates and increasing success of treatment. This results in participants becoming contributing members of society with restored self-worth, the Crow Wing County DWI Court reported.

"We work with people who have an addiction that affects many facets of their lives," said Jill McKenzie, specialty court coordinator.

McKenzie coordinates Aitkin County Sobriety Court, Crow Wing County Drug Court and Crow Wing County DWI Court.

"Our program is an 18-plus month intensive program that helps our

participants to restore their lives through sobriety, reunify them with the community, and reunite them with their families," McKenzie said. "There is nothing better than to see someone graduate, remembering where they were at when they started, and then to compare that with the successes they have achieved through the program."
