Pine Grove Zoo opens soon for the season

The Pine Grove Zoo in Little Falls opens April 15 for the season and includes some new animals.

LITTLE FALLS — Pine Grove Zoo in Little Falls will open for the season at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 15, depending upon the weather.

The zoo’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during April 15 through April 30; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 1 through Sept. 6; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during Sept. 7 through Oct. 17.

“Last year due to COVID-19, the squirrel monkeys were not able to make their debut, but they will be out and about on those warmer days this season,” Director Marnita Van Hoecke stated in a news release.

New this year in the zoo’s petting stable are two dwarf Hotot Rabbits, Sebastian and Felix.

The zoo’s mission is to promote environmental conservation and aid in the creation of a zoological park through fundraising and educational activities.
