Tammy Erickson (formerly Hansen) resigned from the Pine River City Council effective June 3 after moving out of the city. Her resignation prompted the council to appoint a new member at the Tuesday, June 8, regular meeting.

Brent Norman, of Pine River, has shown interest in the council and was at the June 8 meeting where Erickson's resignation was announced and accepted. Mayor Tamara Hansen announced that Norman would like to be considered to fill the term.

The council unanimously approved his appointment. Norman will complete Erickson's term, which ends in 2024.

Erickson had been with the council since 2013, when she was appointed to fill the seat vacated by the late Ron Derksen. She went on to win election in 2016 and was just re-elected in the 2020 election to another four-year term.
