Pine River woman dies in rollover

The woman was ejected and pinned underneath the car.

PEQUOT LAKES — A 30-year-old Pine River woman died Saturday, Aug. 29, after the vehicle she was driving rolled several times and came to a rest in a parking lot in Pequot Lakes.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:44 a.m. to a rollover on County Highway 16 and Peoria Road in Pequot Lakes. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the woman, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The woman was ejected and pinned underneath the car. Deputies learned the vehicle was traveling east on County Highway 16 when it left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to rest in the parking lot of a roofing business.

The woman, identified as Lorn Mercedes Lund of Pine River, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office reported.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Pequot Lakes Fire Department and the Pequot Lakes, Nisswa and Crosslake police departments.
