Rumors circulating about a pipe bomb in Brainerd Wednesday night, Dec. 26, were found to be untrue.

Crow Wing County Sheriff's Sgt. Adam Kronstedt referred to a Facebook post on the sheriff's office Facebook page Thursday afternoon, stating authorities responded to several property damage calls.

"Unfortunately, rumors and assumptions were made and there has been false information circulating that pipe bombs had been located in mailboxes by the sheriff's office," the Facebook post says. "This is FALSE information. No pipe bombs were located."

According to Thursday's media report from the sheriff's office, officers found multiple mailboxes damaged from fireworks just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 15000 block of Woodrow Road in Brainerd.
